ebay UK seller fees changing from 14 August 2014

Dear eBayers from 14 August eBay will be changing the fees for eBay sellers.

Here is a list of what has changed so you in turn can update your spreadsheets. BTW all Ad-Lister customers using the profit and loss tool this will update automatically so you don’t need to do anything. There is one positive!

Note: these changes will be amended across or private and business sellers.

Gallery Plus is now be £2.50 per listing

up   – 30 days listings previously this fee was £2.85 a saving of 35p

down   – The listing for short duration (1 day, 3, 5, 7 and 10 day duration) has increased by 0.95

Explanation of Gallery Plus

When you use the Gallery Plus fee an enlarge icon will display right below your Gallery image on the search results pages. A buyer can then click or hover over the icon with their mouse, and a larger version of the picture will appear. The Gallery Plus is free in some categories for business sellers only. Before applying to this feature I recommend to contact eBay to double check if the category you are selling is free.

Sub title will now be £1.00 per listing

up    – 30 days listings previously this fee was £1.05 a saving of 5p

down    – The listing for short duration (1 day, 3, 5, 7 and 10 day duration) has increased by 0.35

Explanation of SubTitle
Buyers can see this information about your item below the main title when they are browsing categories or performing searches. It’s a good idea to include information in the subtitle that may not fit in the smaller title area, but would be of interest to potential buyers and give them credibility you are an honest seller.

Listing designer will now be £0.30 per listing

down   – The listing for 30 days increased from 0.21

down   – The listing for short duration (1 day, 3, 5, 7 and 10 day duration) has increased from 0.07

I will let you decide if you want to pay for the design eBay’s offering you or you pay a one-off fee to have an even more professional design together with our www.adlister.co.uk listing tool that will make your life a lot easier. As well as increasing sales by up to 39% (http://www.justtemplateit.co.uk/ebay-shop-design-portfolio/)

Updated fee for setting a reserve price for your auctions

You will now be paying 4% an increase from 3.5%.

The minimum reserve price is now £50 capped at £150 per item.

Be aware of the new policy around early ended auctions

Now if you end an item listed as auction with bids that’s been listed for over 24 hours you will be charged and the final value fee will be based on the highest bid placed prior to you are ending the item.

So to confirm if you really have to end an item then you will have to pay a fee. So a bit of a pain if your item is out of stock.

eBay also said that if you already use a feature that is free based upon the category you are selling in it will remain free as long as you fulfil the requirements for that category or tool that you are using to sell.

– Gallery Plus will remain free in the following categories Clothes, Shoes & Accessories, Home and Garden, motors and pets supplies categories

– Listing Designer which will remain free for users of tools such as Turbo Lister.

Thanks for listening
